Wedding Day Inspiration & Experience
Why did you chose the season you did for your Wedding?
We chose late September because we both love fall, and living in Arizona, we don't have a fall. We were hopeful to have weather in the upper 60's with the crisp fall air, and for our guests to be comfortable at the outdoor wedding and not sweating or freezing.
Did you have inspiring Elements or story behind your decor?
Two days after they got engaged, they took a day trip to the spectacular Glacier National Park. On the drive up from Whitefish, Emily turned to Jason and said "Let's get married up here!".
After deciding on Whitefish, Montana, which is such a special place for us now, we wanted to incorporate the natural beauty of Montana (lakes, mountains, pine trees) into our wedding theme. Once we set the location and date I immediately started looking at paper products (one of my favorite things!), and chose a beautiful mountain and pine tree themed save the date, this started my vision for the wedding, with dark greens, light grayish blues and just enjoying the natural beauty of Montana and Whitefish Lake.
We love that we got married with the gorgeous Whitefish Lake as the back drop. We kept that decor very simple, just to enjoy the natural beauty.
This is a lake that Jason has essentially grown up on, and has so many great memories on. The fact that he got to marry his best friend right on its shores is incredibly special to both Jason and Emily.
Your favorite Wedding story?
Our first look was on of my favorite moments from the wedding. The whole morning while getting ready I was super calm and not stressed, but then when it came time to get my dress on and then go outside for the first look, it really hit me that it was happening and emotions and nerves flooded in! Once I saw Jason standing by the lake all of that went away, and then the next couple of hours leading up to the ceremony were fun and stress-free!
We also had an awesome time on the dance floor! It all went by so fast!
What did you love most about your day?
The day really was perfect, from the location, to the flow, everything went great. I loved getting married at a location where everything is in the same spot. Not having to worry about travel time from one location to another was so helpful.
Details: Tell about your Wedding details & what you loved about them?
I loved that I kept things simple and elegant, and utilized the natural beauty of Whitefish Lake and The Lodge. I absolutely LOVE flowers, but they can get quite pricey (and it's all for just a few hours), so keeping things simple added to my classic look. I utilized the design from our save the date for the wedding paper products, like the place cards, table numbers and signs.
