From Kaitlin & Ryan:
“Looking back on our ceremony, the weather is the last thing I think about. I don’t think about the rain or how cold I was, instead what I remember first are the vows I shared with my best friend and love of my life and how special it was to have only our immediate family there to witness. The rain is merely just an added story we can continue to laugh about in the future.”
Tell us a little bit about your day….
The Season: “September is the most beautiful time of year in Northwest Montana with the seasonal color changes and perfect temperatures. We knew right away this was the time of year we wanted to get married – and we knew we’d miss peak tourist season for all of our friends and family to visit.”
Your dress: “I have to say, I was hesitant about the dress before trying it on. I had seen pictures of it and thought it was pretty, but just not “me”. As soon as I tried it on, I knew it was “the one”. It was comfortable, the style I was looking for, and it had a unique lace that I fell in love with.”
Groom’s attire: “Ryan’s socks were a gift from my parents a couple years back. We wanted Roxy to be apart of our special day, but knew she couldn’t join us at our ceremony or reception. So what started as a joke, ended up being one of our favorite ‘details’.”
Your flowers: “I’ve always thought white anemones were beautiful and unique, so I knew from the beginning I had to have them with dry floral accents. But I also wanted to add a touch of color to complement the fall colors. Forage and Floral did such an amazing job bringing that vision to life! I fall in love with my bouquet every time I look at pictures.”
Your Ceremony: “We wanted a small ceremony held among the mountains that both Ryan and I grew up in. When we looked into the idea of getting married Glacier Park, we were allowed only a limited number of guests which was perfect for the intimate ceremony we were looking for.”
On the Menu: “We are big taco fans, so naturally they had to be on the menu. We have really enjoyed Fork in the Road’s food for a few years now and knew they would be able to accommodate everyone’s taste buds and food allergies.”
Your wedding favors: “We wanted something practical that we knew our guests could use for years to come. Since we love to travel and explore, we thought it was a great fit.”
Advice for couples planning their wedding day: “Stick to your budget. Even when you dig for more affordable prices, sometimes that means you’re doing more work in the end. I found that for some thing, having the piece of mind of knowing it would be done correctly and if it’s one less thing you have to worry about on the wedding day, then it is worth that little extra cost.”
“We decided to not have a seating chart, which really helped to eliminate extra stress. We made sure to have a couple reserved tables for family so they could sit close to us, and then added a couple extra tables to accommodate everyone and allow a little extra space.
From Jennifer…..
Kaitlin & Ryan changed things up just a little bit – they started their wedding day getting ready with their close friends, it was fun and upbeat!
Then the next part came – a special first look not only with Kaitlin’s Dad but her brothers.
Meanwhile Ryan was hanging out with his guys getting ready for his special moment with Kaitlin….
Originally Kaitlin & Ryan didn’t want to do a first look, but logistics changed plans – and it ended up being the best plan!
Of course… Roxy had to join…
We had a few hours of beautiful magical cloud cover, and the rain held back while we captured some epic moments in Glacier Park.
This rained out ceremony was truly special. Only a handful of people. I loved everyone’s umbrellas, Kaitlin’s adorable jacket she put on, and the utter happiness and joy from everyone as these two got married in the rain!
Fast forward and they joined up with all their friends and family at the reception and celebrated the night in style surrounded by tons of loved ones!
Meanwhile we grabbed a few more fun evening pictures before we lost our day light with this adorable jacket & hat that Kaitlin incorporated with her wedding dress….
Can you ask for a more perfect day?
Truly…the most perfect days are the ones that evolve and the unplanned happens!
xo,
Jennifer
